The third President of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, stated in the "Imnemnim" podcast that he has doubts that the intervention of the Armenian authorities could have contributed to the appearance of Artsakh's military and political leaders in Baku.
"I have a strong suspicion that people were included in that list, not without Armenia's interference," Sargsyan said.
He noted that the former leaders of Artsakh had no alternative.
"They either had to flee to Armenia, discrediting themselves, or choose the option of self-sacrifice. They chose self-sacrifice."
According to Sargsyan, it was possible to evacuate them by air, like former President Samvel Shahramanyan, but certain circumstances did not allow this.
"I suspect that people were included in that list, not without Armenia's interference. Samvel Shahramanyan is also aware of that list, and I think the time will come when he will speak about it," added the third president of Armenia.
