Kristine Vardanyan, a member of the "Armenia" faction, visited Liana Harutyunyan, who has been detained for three months, and her eight-month-old baby at the "Abovyan" penitentiary.

"The young woman still couldn't believe what was happening to her, the child, lying motionless on the floor of the small cell, watched in amazement the conversation between her mother and strangers. Honestly, to say that I am shocked by this scene, by the absurdity of the situation, is to say nothing. It is still not possible to overcome the feeling of absurdity."

I informed the woman that my colleagues and I are willing to do everything necessary to help change the detention order.

Since yesterday, we, the deputies of the "Armenia" faction, have been in contact with the woman's lawyer, Zaruhi Postanjyan, to whom we have conveyed that we are ready to provide our recommendations in order to change the preventive measure of detention applied to the woman.

By the way, the arrested woman, although she does not agree with the act she is accused of, is ready to serve house arrest, as long as she is with her children. In a conversation with me, she even said that in shock she was unable to orient herself and inform the court that her father's house is located in the region, where she is registered and where she can serve house arrest.

But I really want to understand what Anna Vardapetyan, Srbuhi Galyan, Anahit Manasyan, and especially the female MPs of the CP think about this incident.

If desired, Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan can change this situation within hours, the same can Srbuhi Galyan.

The CP deputies, simply by stating that they are ready to provide a guarantee for a change to the three-month detention, can change this situation and allow the mother of three to join her other two children.

What does Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan, who welcomes the shooting of peaceful protesters, think about all this? What does Sona Ghazaryan, who is supposedly very concerned about women's rights, think about all this?

"I want to understand: is there not a single cell of humanity left in you? We understand justifying the most shameless repressions against your political opponents, but in the case of this woman, why don't you speak up?"
