The issue of ratifying the Strategic Partnership Framework Agreement on TRIPP, part of the Trump Way for International Peace and Prosperity project between Armenia and the United States of America, is included in the agenda of the government’s July 16 session.
The draft government decision envisages applying to the Constitutional Court to clarify the compliance of the obligations stipulated in the agreement with the country’s Constitution. If the Constitutional Court recognizes the obligations as compliant with the Constitution, the government’s legislative initiative will be transferred to the National Assembly in accordance with the established procedure.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahan Kostanyan will assume the powers of the government’s representative in the Constitutional Court.
