There is a public demand for the minister's resignation, a political decision is needed. Former Defense Minister of the Republic of Armenia Davit Tonoyan stated this in a conversation with journalists at the Anti-Corruption Court, speaking about suicides and murders in the army.

"In the case of suicides in the army, I think we need to be a little more careful and work harder, rather than finding solutions through dismissals," he said.

When asked whether he considers it legitimate that the minister himself should resign as a result of these incidents, Tonoyan replied:

"The minister's resignation is in the field of the prime minister and the minister. If they find that there is a political need for it, they will make the decision, so they do not see such a decision as political. There is a public demand, but the public demand is not such that it should be compared with the work of others, with the statistics of others. During my tenure, I was dismissed from office three times in the public field, there were demonstrations, everything happened, it is a matter of a political decision," the former minister noted.
