The duties of the detained mayor of Gyumri, Vardan Ghukasyan, will be performed ex officio by the first deputy, Avetis Arakelyan. Lilit Aghekyan, advisor to the mayor, said this in an interview with Sputnik Armenia .
He added: "There is no strike."
"It's normal work, everyone came to work normally. Should we go on strike so everyone can be happy?" Aghekyan noted.
It should be noted that Avetis Arakelyan is the husband of Vardan Ghukasyan's daughter; he was number two on the list of the Council of Elders of the Communist Party of Armenia.
