Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan did not participate in the discussion held in the government regarding the tragic incident in Armavir.

"I did not participate in such a discussion, but the Ministry of Internal Affairs has begun active work so that we can finally understand what happened," he said in a conversation with reporters.

Galyan called for waiting as long as necessary to see results.

When asked if the law enforcement system had been in place, would it have been possible to prevent the tragedy, the minister said that the preliminary investigation would provide the answer to that question.

"Maybe it was possible, maybe it wasn't. Unfortunately, we don't live in an ideal world, criminal acts occur in our country, the state doesn't manage to prevent all acts, and this is the case all over the world, not just in Armenia," he noted.

Let us remind you that on September 23, at 11:52 p.m., the Ministry of Internal Affairs Police received an alarm that shots had been fired on the Yerevan Highway in the Merdzavan settlement of Armavir region.

One of the deceased is the head of the Parakar community, Valodya Grigoryan, and the second victim is criminal police officer Karen Abrahamyan.

Interior Ministry spokesman Narek Sargsyan reported that the policeman was not on duty, but was simply with Valodya Grigoryan at that moment: they had friendly relations.

A criminal investigation has been initiated into the shootings and murders in Merdzavan.

It should be noted that a third person who was with them was also injured, but underwent surgery and his life is not in danger.
