"This is a fabricated, trumped-up case against me; I am innocent and have done nothing wrong," declared Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), in court.
The next hearing in his case is scheduled for November 4 at 14:00.
As previously reported, the court did not address the issue of a preventive measure for Gagik Tsarukyan during the first hearing of the trial. The judge noted that there are still 20 days remaining before the deadline.
It should be recalled that the primary charges brought by the Investigative Committee and law enforcement agencies allege that members of a group—organized and led by Tsarukyan—committed abuses within the framework of agreements reached with Iranian partners. These actions have been classified as large-scale fraud and the legalization of proceeds obtained through criminal means (money laundering).
