Nearly 1,000 heavy trucks are waiting to enter Georgia via the Georgian Military Highway—one of the most critical transit routes for Armenia, a country that shares no common border with Russia. This was reported on his Telegram channel by Sergey Menyailo, the head of North Ossetia.

According to his data, 509 trucks are in the electronic queue for the crossing, while another 436 are waiting in parking areas. At the same time, both the Georgian Military Highway and the Transcaucasian Highway remain open to traffic.

The Georgian Military Highway connects Vladikavkaz and Tbilisi, crossing the Greater Caucasus Range. The "Upper Lars" checkpoint is the only operational vehicular crossing point on the Russian-Georgian border.

For Armenia, this route holds particular significance. Significant volumes of road freight transport between Armenia and Russia—including the delivery of goods and products for businesses—are carried out via the territory of Georgia.
