The Russian Foreign Ministry has denied reports that Russia refused to approve the appointment of Samvel Mkrtchyan as Armenia’s ambassador to Moscow. The Russian Foreign Ministry conveyed this to RBC.
"Information suggesting that Russia has not approved the candidacy of Samvel Mkrtchyan for the position of Armenia’s ambassador to Moscow is not true. The report in question does not correspond to reality," the ministry stated. Earlier, the newspaper "Hraparak," citing its source, reported that Moscow had refused to approve the candidacy for Armenia’s ambassador to Poland. The publication suggested that this might be linked to Mkrtchyan’s long-standing diplomatic service in European countries.
