Azerbaijan and Armenia will sign a memorandum of understanding in Washington on Friday, committing to pursuing peace, Middle East Eye reported, citing regional sources.

Sources reported that US President Donald Trump will host Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the White House to participate in the signing ceremony.

The sources added that the two leaders will sign a "letter of intent," rather than a draft peace agreement. That would provide Trump with a diplomatic victory.

We previously reported that, according to an Azerbaijani source, Pashinyan and Aliyev will meet in Washington on Friday. Aysor.am tried to get a comment from the Prime Minister's office, but they did not comment on the information.
