Pashinyan is considering taking action against the Catholicos, is he thinking of doing it before or after the elections in Etchmiadzin? Anna Grigoryan, a deputy from the Armenia faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, touched upon the topic in a conversation with reporters in the National Assembly. She is still trying to understand whether the attack will benefit the elections or harm them.
"I humbly tell His Holiness that such a logic of actions is being developed that can truly endanger the Mother See. We see that Nikol Pashinyan will not stop; he has planned his actions a little earlier, a little later, and will carry them out."
"Vardan Ghukasyan fell a little ahead, the Mother See fell a little behind. This is related to the elections in Etchmiadzin. I think all political forces in Armenia have registered that the attack will take place, and we must unite and form a center of resistance," he said.
Grigoryan insisted that this was not a personal issue: "If there were a problem against the Catholicos, please explain why the leaders of the three dioceses are arrested. No, this is a decapitation of the entire institution and the elite."
