"Publication". They discussed the issue of a position for four and a half hours. Closeness with Pashinyan and his wife played its role
"Hraparak" newspaper writes: "The "Civil Agreement" faction held a four-and-a-half-hour closed discussion. It seems that one topic should have been discussed: the serious challenges facing the country and the issue of territories handed over from Tavush, but the question of one position was discussed: who should fill the position left vacant after the appointment of Gevorg Papoyan, chairman of the National Finance and Credit Committee, as a minister.
It turns out that the position of the chairman of the commission, which implies an official car, a driver, and an additional salary of about 200 thousand drams, is more tempting for many than the hundreds of kilometers of territories that Pashinyan wants to hand over to Azerbaijan.
Four candidates were nominated for this position: Babken Tunyan, who was nominated by Vahagn Aleksanyan, Tsovinar Vardanyan and Arusyak Manavazyan, and Hovik Aghazaryan nominated himself.
Tunyan resigned, others made speeches, presented their vision of what brave deeds they will do in the position of the chairman of the finance and credit commission, answered the questions of their colleagues.
Tsovinar Vardanyan collected the most votes by closed voting - 28 votes, A. Manavazyan - 21 votes, and Aghazaryan - 5 votes. CP members were shocked by the number of votes of Arusyak Manavazyan, whose "voice" was not heard by anyone in the NA during this period, but they understood that the closeness with Pashinyan and his wife, managing their family finances, and recently also managing the finances of the CP party played their role, and the former treasurer of "Haykakan Zamana" enjoys the unconditional trust of the leader."
