Putin released Mikael Aghasandyan, the permanent representative of Russia in the CSTO
President Vladimir Putin has appointed Viktor Vasiliev as the permanent representative of Russia in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the decree was published on the portal of legal acts. The document comes into force from the moment of its publication, RBK informed.
By another decree, Putin released Mikael Aghasandyan from that position. He was the permanent representative of Russia in CSTO in 2021. from September, replacing Mikhail Evdokimov in that position. At the same time, Aghasandyan was the ambassador for special assignments of the Russian Foreign Ministry. Before that, he held various positions in the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, worked as an adviser to the permanent representation at the United Nations and was an employee of the embassy in Tunisia. 2023 received the II degree medal "For Merit to the Motherland".
Vasiliev has been in the diplomatic service since 1989. 2013-2018 he was already the authorized representative of Russia in the CSTO. After that, Moscow presented to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and other similar international organizations in Rome. Prior to that, he held various positions in the Russian Foreign Ministry, was an employee of the Permanent Mission to the United Nations, Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva, and the Chairman of the UN Group of Governmental Experts on Tolerance and Trust in Space.
