"Zhoghovurd": Relations between Edgar Ghazaryan and "Strong Armenia" have become strained

The “Zhoghovurd” daily writes: “According to the information of the “Zhoghovurd” daily, a tense situation has arisen in the “Strong Armenia” faction of the National Assembly.

The point is that the statement made by the newly elected deputy Edgar Ghazaryan in 2024 that the sappers who demined Kirants should either be injured or die continues to be the subject of heated discussions both within the faction and outside, in government circles.

The authorities are trying through various channels to achieve the point that Ghazaryan publicly apologizes for that statement. According to the sources of the “Zhoghovurd” daily, the leader of the faction, Narek Karapetyan, is also of the opinion that Edgar Ghazaryan should apologize, and this approach is also shared by the majority of the faction.

The “Zhoghovurd” daily noted that in recent days Edgar Ghazaryan seems to be isolated from the faction; during breaks, he mainly spends time in the corridors of the National Assembly and rarely communicates with his faction colleagues.

It is difficult to say at this time whether the situation will continue to escalate or whether the parties will reach any resolution. However, according to the information of the “Zhoghovurd” daily, Edgar Ghazaryan continues to maintain an uncompromising position and is not going to apologize from the NA rostrum, even taking advantage of the opportunity given to him to speak on behalf of the faction.
